Todowing

Todowing is an unofficial Chrome extension for the Todoist web app. Todoist shows sub-tasks as flat rows in Today, Upcoming, Filters, Labels and boards. Todowing nests them under their parent task, up to four levels deep, and each sub-task keeps its own due date, priority and labels.

It is for people who break work into sub-tasks and lose that structure once a task lands in Today or a filter view. You can complete and reopen sub-tasks straight from the list. Paid features add adding, renaming and reordering sub-tasks, hiding done sub-tasks, filing a task under a parent in another project, time estimates with totals in Todoist's header, focus sessions that count down across open tabs, a three-line notes pad above Today, a font picker with fifty Google Fonts, and up to five read-only Apple Calendar feeds on Today.

Customization is free: seven color palettes that also change row spacing, section style and corner rounding, plus text scaling from 85% to 200%.

Privacy: your Todoist API token stays in your browser and goes only to the official Todoist API. Your tasks never touch Todowing's servers, and the extension has no analytics or tracking.

Pricing: the free plan includes nesting with a limit of 5 sub-task rows per top-level task. A one-time $19.99 lifetime unlock removes the limit and adds the paid features. No subscription, future updates included, 14-day refunds. Todoist Pro is not required.
